Build Your Own Business Online – Free Training Here

Where do you start if you want to build your own online business?  If you are like me you look online.  Wow, so much information and so many scams and how can you tell which sites are legit! It all comes down to trial and error for some or you can take advice from someone already doing the whole online thing and learn from them.

My number one recommendation has got to be Wealthy Affiliate.  Now I know I have done a review of WA on this site already. But! And this is a big but, since this time I have had the time to really have a dig around this site, use the tools and undertaken some of the training myself.

wealthy affiliate sign up page

After writing the aforementioned review I decided to spend some time really going over the site and quickly became a premium member.  This site got me so excited and the thirst I had for drinking in all the training, all the knowledge from other community members and putting it into action actually had me taking time off from my full-time job (this was actually unpaid leave, I didn’t just phone in sick).

You see I plan to give up working for someone else by the end of the summer and become my own full-time boss.  When I got inside this site I knew that I was going to succeed because I had everything I needed to succeed right in front of me.  All I had to do was put in the work, and in a short time it was certainly paying off.  This is why it is my #1 recommendation for anyone wanting to earn money online and have their own business.

And WOW this is everything you need to build your OWN business. Unless you go premium, which I highly recommend then you will need a very small amount of cash each month.

I am going to go through what is all offered within WA right here on this post.  If you don’t want to read on but want to jump right on over to the WA site to see what has got me this excited click here.

So what is Wealthy Affiliate?

Wealthy Affiliate is an entrepreneur’s dream platform.  It was founded back in 2005 when two young men called Kyle and Carson decided to build a platform that would allow others to do what they themselves had become successful in doing.  That was affiliate marketing online and through websites.

They had both struggled a bit while getting their own online businesses up and running and at times report it was way less than easy.  But together they wanted to build a platform for others to build their own business much in the way they had but to really make it a much simpler and stress-free process.

And yes they have succeeded in doing so. With over a million entrepreneurs having already used this system and with the continuing evolution of the platform it remains the no 1 spot for budding affiliate marketers to go and learn and create.

The site has over 750+ training updates per year and has had over 155 system updates in the past year.  It is forever growing and evolving so you get the very best website builder, hosting, training, community and best of all success.

So what’s on offer….

Free or Premium Membership

You can join Wealthy Affiliate for free. This is ideal if you just want to see what all the fuss is about or to really check it out before laying out money.  This site is totally transparent in the way it does business and I love that.

No hidden extra’s and they are so confident about what they do they leave the door open and the decision to you whether you go premium or not.

So what’s the difference between FREE and PREMIUM, see the chart below to find out.

wealthy affiliate starter v premium table

As you can see you get a lot for your buck with premium.  If you think what you would pay to go to an evening class or even study this business full time you would be way more expensive.  The best thing is here you don’t just have a few lecturers but 1000’s, all with their own little pockets of knowledge and willing to share.  Your knowledge base will grow to be diverse and this will and can be one of the steepest learning curves of your life so far.  All achieved with a fantastic support network

The Wealthy Affiliate Community

One thing that makes Wealthy Affiliate stand out is the community it has.  Community members come from around the world with varying degrees of knowledge and know-how on marketing.  You can follow members, read their blog posts – some of which is additional training and ask questions.  There are thousands of community members to help you out if you are stuck or struggling with something.  Whether you need a friendly ear or a kick up the butt there will always be someone there willing to give you what you need.

Certification Training

The certification training takes a more in-depth look at building your website and business.  You can work through each course at your own pace.  For some of the tasks, you are asked to share some of your work for others to give feedback or comment on.  This is a great way for you to get constructive criticism from fellow affiliate marketers to allow you to make any adjustments needed for your site to grow and expand.  By having this training and feedback opportunity it allows more knowledgeable marketers to help guide and coach you so you can get it right and start earning online.

So what you are really able to do by following the training is EARN WHILE YOU LEARN.  So there is no need for you to complete all the training before getting your business up and running.

Affiliate Bootcamp

This is where you get to learn what is needed to become an affiliate marketer.  This has 7 phases with each phase broken down into smaller segments for you to work your way through. I have included below the outline for phase 1 of affiliate boot camp so you can see how much value you will get through this training.  Remember this is just one phase of 7

Weekly Webinars with Jay

Now, this is only available to premium members.  This is a weekly webinar hosted by Jay the chief trainer.  Every week Jay hosts a live training webinar or a certain topic.  You are invited each week to sign up for the training but you can also catch up with this on replay. Replay is normally available within 24 hours of the training going live.

These are great as not only is it an interactive live webinar each week there is also a live Q&A session at the end of each training session.  These webinars normally last around an hour.  You can also catch up on some of the previous webinars that you may have missed.  So not only does your premium membership allow you access from when you join but also a back catalogue of training that you would never have known about.

I think that pretty awesome considering you weren’t even a paying member when they were produced.  I hope by now you are really beginning to see the value of this platform.

SiteRubix      site rubix logo

SiteRubix is where the magic happens so to speak.  This is accessible from the WA dashboard and is where you go to create and manage your websites.  You are able to get free or buy your domain names, build your website, choose your themes, add plugins, create and publish content for your site and get comments and feedback from community members once you are ready to do so.

Everything is covered in the training so you won’t be left stumbling around in the dark but rather gently guided and shown how to create something special.

SiteRubix will host 2 websites on free membership and up to 50 for premium members.  All the hosting and security is done for you.

If you want to read more about what SiteRubix has to offer click here.

Jaaxy             jaaxy logo

Jaaxy is the ultimate keyword research tool and will quickly become one of your best friends once you start creating content.  Again this is accessible from the WA dashboard.  Keywords are what help you get ranked within the search engines online.  As well as being a keyword research tool it also helps with niche research, spy on the competition has site rank so you can keep an eye on where your websites are ranking and a brainstorming HQ to allow you to thrash out your ideas.

Using Jaaxy is also covered in your training and again you can search for further training within the community blogs.

If you want to read more about Jaaxy and what it has to offer click here.

So as you can see there is a lot going on within the Wealthy Affiliate platform.  For me, I think it is best to go premium as you get not just a lot more value but HUGE amounts of AMAZING value.  My view is with all the extra training an expertise you will have access to the sooner that you are going to be earning online and this will cover the costs.

But, if you are unable to go premium start on a free membership and use that first week to get the most out of it.  Read other peoples blogs and try to visit their sites and really get familiar with the world of affiliate marketing.

Good Luck on your future ventures whatever they may be.

Start your Own Business, Working from Home

So you’ve decided you want to start your own business and effectively be your own boss working from home?

This is a dream for many people and many people wonder where they should start and how to go about it.  The thing is that this can be different for many people.  Some people may have no commitments and are able to devote as much time as they can to this, others will be starting their business while juggling a full time job and family.

How long it takes you to get a business up and running and bringing in money will depend on your circumstances and how much time you can allocate to your business.

A word of warning to you if you are looking online. If you are looking at working from home or starting a home based business. There are many people and sites on here offering get rich quick schemes or scams should I say.

To build a good business takes hard work and time.  Online businesses can come and go in the blink of an eye these days.  Mostly because the people behind them are not willing to stay with it and put the work in to get the desired results.  It sometimes takes a few attempts to get a successful business up and running and some tweaks here and there to get it going and keep it going.

The one thing to remember is you are not just building a business, you are building a brand, you are building trust, and you are building a relationship between you /your business and the user/client/customer.  All of these things take time and hard work but you will reap the rewards of your dedication in the end.

Whatever business you decide to go into, do your research, keep your end goals in sight and stay focused.

Lastly I wish you the best of luck and every success.  Now go be your own boss and enjoy it!

Which Business is Right for YOU?

This really is up to you, you are the only person that can really decide this.  You should know your own strengths, weaknesses and passions.

Take your time to look at different online businesses, all the pro’s and cons that you can think of for each one, taking into account your strengths and weaknesses.  Remember that we are not all spot on with what we think our strengths and weaknesses are!  Maybe take some time to ask friends or colleagues for their thoughts.

Also take into account that you will learn and grow through this process so you don’t always need to be super at all aspects at first.  You CAN and WILL learn many new skills throughout your new venture.

You may want to look and see if there is any free or cheap training in your chosen business market.  There are some really good sites out there that you can sign up to which will provide training and help you build your business for a reasonable fee.  If you do wish to do this I recommend you look for a programme that gives you real value for your money.  3 things that will be invaluable to when starting out these are:

PROOF, are they successful in this field themselves?

MENTORSHIP, can they mentor you or have a community base that will help mentor you?

ACCOUNTABILITY, a person or community that will check in with you and make sure you are continuing to move forward with training, business and personal growth.  You can maybe even pair up with a community member to check in with you.  If you have someone to be accountable to you will be more likely to strive to meet targets or reach goals.

Working At Home, Some Pointers

Here are some suggestions of what I have found helpful and myself try to stick to when working from home.

  • Have a proper work space – this doesn’t need to be anything elaborate.  A table and chair somewhere that you can sit comfortably with your laptop, computer and such.  Ensure you have some extra space for taking notes, jotting down ideas or making plans.
  • Speak to house members– for some people starting out they may not want to share their venture or plans at first for fear of failure or being judged.  I am not saying to tell them everything, but, let them know that you will be using this space to learn and work.  Sometimes you may need to emphasis the word work, especially if you are going to be putting a lot of hours in.  Ask them to take your efforts seriously and ask them not to disturb you. Ask that they give you the same respect and uninterrupted time  that they would if you was  AT work out of the home.  It is not uncommon for someone working from home to have their partners expect them to do all the housework and run errands all day.
  • Set working times – these can change from week to week or even day to day.  Try to set working hours on a weekly basis at first and stick to them.  If you already work full time maybe an hour or two each night and a few hours at the weekend.  If you don’t work you should still try to set hours.  If you can approach it focused and as work you will often find you are more productive.  You will not build a business having long lies or watching the TV.
  • Organize and plan your work – set daily or weekly goals. Break your goals down.  Split it into research or training and work tasks.  Try writing these down and tick them off as you complete them.  This can help keep you focused and give a sense of achievement once complete.  This will also help when you evaluate your work which I will speak about further on.
  • Take regular breaks – sitting at a computer can be hard on the eyes and reading and writing can be mentally taxing.  Take regular breaks, 5-10 mins should be enough.  Get up, do some stretching, make yourself a drink or take in some fresh air.
  • Keep records – if you are wanting to make this your business you are going to need to keep some records.  What you spend or put into the business – start-up costs! (If you are buying sites or signing up for and paying for training etc.) Any income generated by the business, these should be kept for tax purposes.  As your business grows you may want to employ someone to do this for you.  If you start keeping records from the outset it will save you a lot of time when it comes book keeping later on.
  • Evaluate your work – try to take time to evaluate what you are doing on a regular basis.  Ask yourself lots of questions and answer truthfully.  E.g. do I work better in the morning or the evening?  Are there things that distract me from working?  How much time do I spend researching, writing, training or learning?  Are these balanced and productive?

As your business grows you will need to evaluate many aspects of your business.  E.g. what is making you money v what doesn’t, what programmes make life easier and which are more hassle.  As your business grows and you need to employ people such as ghost writers,  copy writers, proofreader will need to evaluate how they work and how you employ them.

By evaluating yourself and your work in the beginning it will be easier and more natural when it comes to evaluating the bigger stuff.

Another very important area which you will learn becomes important and comes to work hand in hand with starting your own business is your own personal development.  This should go without saying that you will grow with your business but this will become more apparent as you start to grow your business and I will look at this further in another post.
